Winter is the perfect time to visit North Star!

Fun-filled Winter Escapes at North Star

With warm, sunshine-filled days and clear blue skies, Hastings Point on the Tweed Coast in Northern NSW is the ideal place for a winter escape … and the friendly team at North Star Holiday Resort are ready to welcome you.

A recipient of a Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence seven years in a row, the multi-award-winning holiday resort has something for the entire family, including North Star’s Christmas in July Celebrations (be sure to book ahead as this is one of our most popular events) and weekly educational programs at the Marine Environment Museum.

‘But it’s too cold to swim!’ – Oh no it isn’t! Luckily at North Star you can swim all round with our fabulous resort pool and brand new 8.2m high super slides both heated to a warm and inviting 28 degrees!! Entertaining the kiddies couldn’t be easier.

Younger members will love Sammy’s Adventure Lagoon, North Star’s famous waterpark, while those aged between 3 and 12 can join Neptune’s Castle Kid’s Club for some great holiday fun. Outside of the holidays and weekends you can still access Neptune’s Castle which offers 3 storeys of slides, twists and turns, a flying fox and a huge ball pit! Surely that’s enough to tire them out, ready for the next activity!

Adults can soak up the relaxed ambience at Seascape Leisure Centre, which is home to a hair and beauty salon, massage rooms, three temperature-controlled spas, 25m heated lap pool, sauna and gymnasium. This is pure heaven for adults and gives you the much needed time out you deserve. It’s your holiday too.

‘But where can I eat without venturing too far?’ We have you covered there too… Our on-site Ripples Licensed Café offers all-day dining seven days a week. Our brand new all-weather outdoor deck offers a tropical palm-tree lined dining and lounging area where you can enjoy a hot buffet breakfast, coffee and cake, a $15 lunch menu, or why not treat yourself to a cocktail for that true ‘I’m totally on holiday’ feeling. On a Tuesday night the kids can even eat FREE. High five to that!

Located just 25 minutes south of the Queensland/NSW border, with the Pacific Ocean and surf beaches on one side and the estuary on the other, North Star is also the perfect spot to enjoy a host of water-fuelled activities including fishing, swimming, kayaking and whale watching. With our amazing year round climate, our gorgeous coastline is perfect for the whole family, even in Winter.

As part of the Pacific Coast Whale Watching Trail, the Hastings Point headland is a prime vantage point to watch these majestic humpback whales on their annual migration from May to November. For information on whale-watching day trips, head to Coolangatta Whale Watch.

The Tweed Region is also home to Chinderah 18 hole Golf Course, Pottsville 9 hole Golf Course, the Tweed Regional Gallery and the Margaret Olley Art Centre, as well as some great winter events including:
